40th Birthday Cake

This cake was a quickie, something I rustled up in under 24 hours!  I think the paint was still wet when collected :0)
The cake was covered in brown sugarpaste (favourite colour of the birthday girl!).  I made a figurine of the the birthday girl and paid homage to the Olympics, by giving her a gold medal with 40 written on it.   I added some 'fun' aspects such as the cats and angry birds as requested by her husband.  I hope she likes it!

Cricket Bat Birthday Cake

A cricket bat cake made for a friend's son.  The cake resembled his own bat.  Not too difficult to make, however I need to invest in better writing pens!!!  Overall, Alex said he loved his cake and it tasted great.

Magician Birthday cake (rabbit in a hat)

I made this for a friends daughter who was having a magician at her birthday party.  She originally wanted a hat on top of a case, but we changed it to a magical box.  She loved the cake thank goodness ;0)

Dragon Birthday cake

I love this cake, I definitely think it's one of my better ones!  It took ages to make (cutting out circles for the scales was so time consuming!!!) but the end result was better than I expected

Angry Birds Birthday Cake

Made this for a parent at my daughter's school  for her son.  The hardest part of this cake was mixing the colours, so time consuming!!!!!! The mum  was very precise in what she wanted, such as using the plastic slingshot, I probably would have made one from sugarpaste, but hey it saved me time making one.  Not bad for a first attempt, especially as I had to keep on referring to my iphone app!!!!

50th stacked present birthday cake

Another stacked present cake.  This was done for a friend's 50th birthday.  Its a very easy cake to make and keeping the colours to a minimum makes it look more effective!

Harry Potter Sorting Hat Cake

I used two cakes to make the hat shape, round 7 inch and a dome (one that I would use to make a Barbie cake).  I carved out the features and then crumb coated the cake before applying the sugarpaste.  I dusted the cake with cocoa powder to give it more of an authentic look.  The child in question thought it was fab x

Butterfly garden cake

This cake was made for my youngest for her 6th Birthday party.  I made the cake multi coloured inside, unfortunately I forgot to take pictures when I cut the cake!  Overall the cake tasted amazing!

Another camping cake

Wow!  What a month for making cakes, I still have my daughter's to do! :0)  I made this cake for a friends son who is having a joint camping party with his friend.  I decided to do something different from the cake I made for her (see camping cake).  I made my own modelling paste to make the tents, leaving them overnight to dry.  Quite a sweet looking cake, hopefully they will like it! x

Number 1 Birthday Cake (first birthday)

Another for a friends grandson!:0)
The sugarpaste was a nightmare!  It was too dry, but luckily she wasn't paying for it phew!!!!!
